Validation Exercise

1. Click on this homework file link and save the file to a folder on your computer
2. If you are using Windows, open Windows Explorer and locate the zipped file
3. Right-click on the file and Unzip, Uncompress or Extract the file
4. You will find a journal_ex folder
5. Open the folder and you will see
   1. images folder
   2. journal.html
6. You can open and right-click on the following files to view the source code
   1. Frameset
   2. Transitional
   3. Strict
7. Copy the Transitional Doctype line from above the HTML tag to your journal.html file
8. Visit one of many validation sites listed here in this linked page
9. Ignore character encoding errors and fix any errors on the web page
10. View this PDF example and add the List elements to the web page along with other improvements to the appearance of the web page and validate again

11. All done? Right-click on the journal_ex folder and Send To a compressed file
12. Save the file as firstInitial_lastName_validation.zip. (e.g.: b_ray_validation.zip)
13. Submit this exercise and the quiz as the Week 3 homework
